How to Stop Flower Dropping in Cotton and Boost Production
Cotton farmers in regions like Jalgaon and Aurangabad often face a major challenge: flower and boll dropping. This physiological disorder usually occurs due to hormonal imbalance or environmental stress, leading to significant yield losses. To combat this, plants need a “tonic” that regulates their internal enzyme systems and maintains the Carbon:Nitrogen (C:N) ratio. Providing the right nutritional support during the flowering stage is crucial to ensure that flowers convert into healthy, large bolls.
This is where organic plant tonics like Zatka prove effective. Enriched with Sargassum seaweed, Glycine, and Potassium Fulvic Humate, such tonics act as a stress reliever for the crop. They induce early maturity and strengthen the pedicel (stalk), preventing the flowers from falling off prematurely. Furthermore, the inclusion of amino acids helps in protein synthesis, which is vital for fruit setting and size expansion.
For best results, foliar spraying is recommended during the pre-flowering and boll-formation stages. This direct application ensures that the nutrients are absorbed immediately by the leaves. By reducing flower drop and increasing the number of bolls per plant, farmers can see a direct jump in their profit margins. Using a trusted, residue-free solution ensures that the quality of the cotton lint remains high, commanding better prices in the market.
